Born July 28, 1955 in Everett, to Erna Nadean and Arne Wilhelm Nelson, he grew up in Alderwood Manor and attended and graduated from Mountlake Terrace High School (class of 1973).
He married Laurie Krahn on December 3rd, 1977 and they had two children, a son, Jesse and daughter, Hollyann. They later divorced but remained friends.
Greg worked for many years at (then) Campbell/Nelson VW. Later in life, he attended and received his two year degree from Edmonds Community College.
A big part of his life, was Country Music and dancing. His happy place was time at the cabin in Mazama. He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, playing his guitar and just relaxing in the hot tub.
In October 2023, he was diagnosed with cancer, he tried to fight it, but it eventually won.
He is preceded in death by his father Arne Nelson.
He is survived by his mother, Erna, his two children: Jesse (Christina) Nelson (Alexandria, Virginia) and Hollyann (Arnaud Wendling) Nelson -Wendling (Paris, France) as well as six grandchildren: Jesse (Alexandra) Nelson, Alexandria Jackson, Erik Nelson, Katarina Nelson, Mickael Wendling and Raphael Wendling. He is also survived by his sister, Kristi Nelson and his special friend and partner, Judy Geck.
Greg, you left us far too soon. You will be missed.
