Ellen Hennessey, 84, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2012. Ellen was born on June 7, 1928 to Johann and Klara Franzinger in Mannheim Germany. In 1954 she married Philip Hennessey and moved to the United States. Settling in Western Washington, Phil and Ellen raised their children Carole Ann and Brian.
Ellen volunteered at Lynnwood High School in the late 70’s, where she assisted the German Language teacher.
Ellen was proudest of her U.S. citizenship and adopted Irish heritage. She never met a stranger, while waiting in the check-out line or volunteering at the Snohomish County Visitors Information Center.
She always had a cheerful attitude and personality which served her well, winning a battle against breast cancer.
She is now re-united with her sisters, Gerta Kast and Anna Schebesta.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years Philip Hennessey, daughter Carole Ann Hennessey, son Brian Hennessey and wife Katie, granddaughter Riley Ann Hennessey, and many other friends and relations.
Remembrances can be made to the American Cancer Society.
Services will be at Purdy & Walters – Floral Hills in Lynnwood, Thursday December 6 at 1:00.
