Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Thomas A. and Florence K. (Jones) Soucy. He attended Lynn Schools and was a graduate of Lynn English High School. He enlisted in the United Army, United States Navy and the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a cobbler for Persi’s Shoe Repair and later worked for Honeywell Alarms. In later years, he got great enjoyment from being a crossing guard at the Ingalls School.
A communicant of St. Joseph’s Parish, he was also the past commander of American Legion Post #291 and was an avid reader and history buff.
In addition to his wife, Tom leaves his two children, Dina M. Keaney and her late husband Timothy F. of Salem and John T. Soucy of Lynn. He was the brother of Dorothy Maguire of Nahant. He was the father of the late Dana S. Soucy and brother to the late Rodney, Robert and Norman Soucy.
His Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Saturday at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s LOWER Church at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visiting Hours Friday 4-8PM. Gifts in his memory may be sent to the St. Vincent De Paul Society at St. Joseph’s Parish, 40 Green St. Lynn, MA 01902.
