SALEM - Robert Leo Bushway, 57, of Salem, formerly of Lynn, MA, passed away suddenly, Saturday, November 24th at Salem Hospital. Robert was the beloved husband of Diana (Pietkiewicz) Bushway of Salem with whom he shared 5 years of marriage; the devoted son of Mary Catherine (Martin) Bushway of Lynn and the late Theodore C. Bushway, Jr; the loving brother of Theodore C. Bushway and his wife, Cris of Illinois, Barry Bushway and his wife, Maria of Boxford and Matthew Bushway and his wife, Erin of Lynn; and the cherished uncle of several nieces and nephews.
Born in Lynn, Robert graduated from Lynn English High School with the Class of 1979. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Salem State College and a CE Certificate from the School of The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Robert was a printer by trade and was employed and managed in the printing and graphic design business for his entire working career. He also served on the faculty in Architectural Stained Glass at the School of the MFA / Tufts University in Boston.
Robert was a proud Lieutenant in the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts and also served as its Director of Publications and its Public Affairs Officer.
Robert’s funeral will be held on Friday, November 30th from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St., Lynn, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius V Church, Lynn. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery,Lynn. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 29th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
