Born in Lynn, Patrick was the son of the late Killian and Anna (Casey) Brady. Lifelong resident of Lynn, he graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1953, where he was known as the “Class Clown”. Patrick was the proud owner and operator of Shop Kwik Superette in Lynn, for 28 years where he was known for his quick wit, “customer first” attitude and outgoing personality. Prior to owning Shop Kwik, he delivered milk for H. P. Hood & Sons and served his country as a Master Sergeant in the 26th Infantry “Yankee” Division of the Massachusetts National Guard. He attended Northeastern University and was a long standing member of the Board of Directors of St. Jean’s Credit Union. He was also an active member of the LEHS Meadowlarks, enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends at his homes in Lynn, MA and West Gardiner, Maine.
Patrick was a proud and beloved father and father-in-law to his daughter, Marianne Brodbine of Windham, NH, son, Scott Brady and his wife Patti of South Carolina. He was the cherished grandfather of Lauren Brodbine and her fiancé Steven Perry, Eric and Matthew Brodbine and Elise and Evan Brady. Patrick was the loving great-grandfather to Harper Perry.
He was a fun-loving uncle to 44 nieces and nephews and was the beloved brother of Ann Marie Ward and her husband Norman of Lynn, his late twin and “partner in crime” Killian Brady and his wife Frances of North Reading, Edward Brady and his wife Madeline of Lynn, Thomas Brady and his wife Nancy of Peabody, Joseph Brady and his wife Alicia of Arizona, and John Brady and his wife Kathy of Florida.
Patrick was the brother-in-law of the late Alice Cook and her late husband Gordon of Nova Scotia, Dorothy Nai and her husband John of South Carolina, the late Robert Clark and his wife Ruth of New Hampshire, the late Cynthia Leighton and her husband Richard of North Andover, the late Rita Muchmore and her late husband Robert of Lynn, Linda Stevens of Lynn and her late husband Lawrence.
Patrick’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-McGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple Street, Lynn on Saturday at 8:30 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple Street, Lynn at 9:30 AM. Burial to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-8 PM.
