Margaret Kirby LaMothe, age 65, of Lynn, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 26, 2024 after a tragic accident. She was the beloved wife of James L. LaMothe, Jr. with whom she shared 40 years of marriage.
Margaret was the daughter of the late Charles L. Kirby, Jr. and Jane (Parsons) Kirby. She was predeceased by her sisters, Patricia Sado and Julia Kirby, both of New York. She was the devoted mother of Matthew Thomas LaMothe and his wife Nikki, Sara Jane Bailey and her husband Sean, and John Charles LaMothe and his wife Alyssa. Cherished grandmother of Abigail Julia, Evelyn Rose, Maeve Jane and Luigi Charles LaMothe. She is survived also by her niece, Nathalie Nisinson, her nephew Vincent Spadafora and their families, brothers-in-law Dan Sado and Robert LaMothe, and sister-in-law Jean LaMothe.
She graduated from Albertus Magnus High School in Bardonia, New York, and the College of the Holy Cross. She earned her law degree from Boston College Law School and practiced real estate law with McElhiney and Matson in Woburn for nearly forty years. She was a certified land examiner for the Land Court and was acknowledged as an expert in her field. She served for many years as board president for Camp Fire North Shore. She coached cheerleaders for East Lynn Pop Warner and Our Lady of the Assumption School in Lynnfield. She was a faithful communicant at Our Lady of the Assumption and more recently at St. Pius V parish in Lynn. She cherished her time spent with family and friends.
Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Her Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple Street, Lynn - Please meet directly at church, with interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Camp Fire North Shore, Inc, 583 Chestnut St., Suite 11, Lynn MA 01904.
