It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Wayne Amato, age 75, of Salem, MA. He died on Friday, June 30, 2023. He was the longtime companion of Patricia “Patty” Zeglinsky (deceased) and beloved ex-husband of Suzanne L. Amato, now Suzanne L. Fratus, with whom he shared 23 years of marriage.
Born in Revere, MA “Kenny or Ken” was the son of the late James R. Amato and Jean A. Amato (Marciello).
He was the loving and devoted father of Pamela J. Amato, Kellie J. Amato, Dean W. Amato, and Dana W. Amato; the cherished grandfather of Danielle M. Glenn (McNeil), Christopher J. Dandreo, Taylor M. McNeil, Steven J. Dandreo, Morgan Ellis, Niko W. Amato and Gianna M. Amato and the proud Great-Grandfather of O’rion J. Landry. He was brother to James Amato, Philip Amato (deceased) Diane Saindon (deceased) David Amato (deceased). Kenny is also survived by his loving daughter-in-law, Maria Amato, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Ken grew up in East Boston, Medford and Lynn and attended Lynn English High School. He raised his family in Pine Hill in Lynn. Kenny was an ASE Master Certified Auto Technician and once proud owner of Ken’s Volkswagen and Ken’s Auto Clinic on Essex Street in Lynn. His family was absolutely everything to him and that is where he most enjoyed spending his time.
Friends and family are welcome to pay their final respects in celebration of Kenny’s life at a viewing at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Viewing hours are Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Mass service for Ken will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 10 AM at Saint Pius V Church, 215 Maple Street Lynn, please meet directly at church, with interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 134 Broadway Lynn, immediately following the church services.
