John D. Kelly Sr.

Born in Boston, he was a son of the late George C. and Marie (Gorkson) Kelly. He served as a Specialist in the US Army. John was a paper hanger with All State Wallcovering for 25 years.

He was a member of Hammast Lodge AF & AM, Swampscott; Philanthropic Lodge, Marblehead; Briarcliff Lodge; Kearsarge Lodge, International Order of Oddfellows Swampscott. He was also a member of Teamsters Local 258 Boston Painters and Wall Coverers. He was also a member of the Aleppo Shriner’s Clown Unit

In addition to his wife, Leona, John leaves one son, John D. Kelly, Jr and his wife Marie of Danvers, his daughter Rita M. Grussi and her husband Sergio of Lynn. He also leaves 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was the brother of Paul Kelly and his wife Linda, of Peabody. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Denise A. Torres, his brothers Lawrence, George and Donald Kelly and his sister Ellen Crowley.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00am from the Cuffe –McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street, Lynn, with Mass celebrated in St. Pius V Church 215 Maple Street at 11:00am. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday from 4-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
