Jean Marie Roseman, 65, of Saugus and formerly of Lynn and Boston, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Jean was the devoted mother of Sara Roseman and Joy Roseman; the cherished Meremere of Myra Rose Hartford, Alvin Carter, IV, Analiese Imoni Carter, and Gianeysa Marie Jemery; and the dear daughter of the late Sarah Katherine Harrison Roseman and Franklin Marshall Roseman.
Jean grew up in Boston, graduated from Sharon High School in 1973 and later graduated from Boston University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She raised her family in Boston and Lynn. She worked as a social worker for the City of Boston and later became Boston Public School Substitute School Teacher. Her greatest job as she grew older was being a “stay at home grandmother.” She loved to read, write and draw. She was a larger than life Star Trek Fan. She published her first fan fiction novel in 2014. Her favorite place to spend time was in Boston. She loved going downtown and would stop off at her favorite book store to pick up a magazine or new novel.
Jean cherished her time spent with family and loved being a mother, and most of all, loved being a grandmother. Her happiest moments were spent hanging out with her grandchildren Myra, Alvin, Analiese, and Gianeysa. They were her world. She loved reading to them and educating them on history, science, and art. She had an amazing imagination. Some of her most cherished times were spent enjoying late night movies and reading with her best friend and grandson, Alvin Carter, IV. She was known for her fun, sassy personality. Her smile and laugh was infectious. She had the best sense of humor. She was our best friend. She will be deeply, and eternally missed by her children and grandchildren.
Funeral services are private and are under the care of Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, Lynn. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cuffemcginn.com for the Roseman family.
