Elaine M. (Carbone) Perlino, 90, of Lynn passed away peacefully on her 74th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, January 9th 2016 at the Abbott House Nursing Home surrounded by her family and her extended Abbott House family. A lifelong resident of Lynn, she was the daughter of the late John and Annie (O'Brien) Carbone. She married the love of her life, the late, Retired Lynn Police Captain Carl Perlino, with whom they had five children. Elaine's family meant the world to her. She was a kind and gentle soul.
She loved playing the slot machines and especially the bus rides to the many casinos she visited. She enjoyed Bingo, cards, Scrabble and travelling with family and friends to Italy, Ireland, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Florida, New York and Las Vegas. She enjoyed watching golf and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. She loved and lived life to the fullest. During her time at the Abbott House, Elaine participated in many of the activities. She received compassionate care at the Abbott House, which was a comfort and blessing to Elaine and her family. We will be forever grateful to the staff and medical professionals there. We know she can now rest and be at peace as she reunites with all her loved ones in Heaven.
She leaves a daughter, Linda Cunningham of Nahant and her husband James and three sons; Retired Lynn Firefighter Carl Jr. and his wife Joanne of Lynn, Retired Lynn Police Captain Rocco and his wife Barbara of Naples, FL and Enrico of Lynn. She is pre-deceased by her son, Thomas. She was known as "Namie" to her grandchildren. She leaves Christine Lyman and her husband Brooks, Anthony Perlino, Jane Perry and her husband Paul, Jodi Perlino, Sean Cunningham, Staci Price and her husband Jason, Kathy Parker and her husband Frank. For great grandchildren, she leaves Jack Lyman, Heather, Eythan & Tanner Perry, Zachary and Mason Laurencelle, Ronan Cunningham, Emily and Lucian Price, Jake and Aaron Parker. She was the sister of the late James, John, Edward and Robert Carbone. She also leaves her extended family at the Abbott House.
Service Information: Elaine’s funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St., Lynn on Wednesday, January 13th at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 248 Nahant Road, Nahant. Relatives and friends invited. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 12th, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Abbott House Activity Fund, 28 Essex Street, Lynn, MA 01902.
