Born May 27, 1934 in Wakefield, where she was raised and attended school, to the late Leonard Ervin and Nona Mildren (Morse) Young. Audrey donated a lot of her time at New England Home for Little Wanderers in the early years after getting married. She lived most of her life in West Peabody, where her children were raised and had many friendly gatherings around the neighborhood.
She loved spending time at their camp in Shapleigh, Maine boating, waterskiing, weekly card games with their friends and entertaining many visitors. After retirement from Raytheon in N. Andover in 1990, Audrey and Bud moved to Clearwater, Florida to enjoy the warm weather and the beaches.
Audrey loved going to the beach and walking the shore, collecting seashells and sand dollars. She volunteered at her church by coordinating the flowers for Sunday service and special occasions and helped out at the plant sale every year. Crocheting and knitting was a favorite pastime, as well as attending exercise classes and country line dancing at the Salisbury Council of Aging. She was a huge Patriots fan and watched every football game.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and recently celebrated her 90th birthday surrounded by family and friends.
Audrey is survived by her daughters, Kim Estes and her partner James Maloney, and Dyann Angeloni and her three grandchildren, Madison, Ryan and Adrian.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is pre-deceased by her brother Leonard Ervin Young and her sister Winifred Sawyer.
Audrey’s visitation will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday July 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First Congregational Church, 175 Main St, Rowley, MA 01969.
