Anna M. (Osborne) Tobin entered into rest on April 11, 2015. She was96 years old and died peacefully of natural causes. She was predeceased by her husband Attorney Francis J. Tobin and a son in childbirth.
Anna was the daughter of the late William P. Osborne from Newfoundland and Margaret A. (Hamill) Osborne from Ireland. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Lynn and Burdett College. She was a kind woman with an easy going disposition and was always devoted to her family. In her early years during World War II, she worked at General Electric in Lynn and after the war married her husband Francis. After the wedding, she became a homemaker raising her family. In her later years, she became an avid golfer and especially enjoyed playing in tournaments. She was also known for her talented seamstress abilities. She will be missed but to know she is at peace with our Lord in heaven is very comforting for the family at this time.
Anna leaves behind two daughters and a son; Patricia Cohen and her husband William, James Tobin and his wife Anne Marie, and Nancy Tobin. She was the Grandmother of Jeremy Cohen, Missy Cohen, Renee Philbrook, and Abby Tobin. Anna was the Great Grandmother of Kelsey Cohen, Meaghan Cohen, Mia Philbrook, Meredith Philbrook, and Tobin Deneen.
Anna’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-McGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St., Lynn on Friday, beginning with visitation at 9:00AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Pius V Church at 11:00AM. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn. In her memory a donation may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1 Bullfinch Place, 2nd FL, Boston, MA 02114 or www.massri.wish.org.
