William Henry Ashley, 86, of Bedford passed away Friday, November 10, 2023. He is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Bohanan and Nannie Tidwell; many nieces, nephews and extended family, and special friend and buddy Danny Ripley.
William was born September 17, 1937 in Prince Edward County and was the son of the late Willie James and Ethel King Ashby. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Ashby, Johnny Ashby, and Jessie Ashby; two sisters Shirley Ashby and Hazel Davis.
William was a retired truck driver and attended Thomas Road Baptist Church where he was led to the Lord at the age of 82. A more humble soul could not be found and his constant prayer was; "God bless those who have less." He will forever be remembered as a kind-hearted gentleman and ladies man.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
