Vera Brown Wright

“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” Vera was the loving wife for 40 years to the late Walter T. Wright, Sr. She was a charter member of Church of God of Prophecy for 51 years, where she was very strong in her faith until her death.
Born in Amherst County, January 21, 1930, Vera was the daughter of the late Louise Branham and the loving granddaughter of the late Ramsey and Nora Carry Branham of Amherst County. She was also preceded in death by a loving sister, Virginia B. Mays.
Vera also leaves to cherish her memory, four loving children, Walter T. Wright, Jr.(Rhonda), Sandra K. Smith, (Glenn), Wanda W. Tucker, (Mike), Deborah Jean Wright; three grandchildren, Melissa Wright, Mike Tucker Jr. (Jillian), Chelsey Wright, five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her cousins, Louise, Ella Gene, James and little Johnnie.
The family will receive friends Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 2-4:00 p.m. at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March, 19, 2012, at Fort Hill Memorial Park conducted by the Rev. Gary Vernon.
The family request memorial contributions be made in Vera’s honor to Alzheimer’s Assoc. P.O. Box 823 Lynchburg, VA 24505 or Parkinson Foundation, 833 West Washington Blvd, Chicago, IL 60607.
The family would like to thank the nurses and CNA’s at Guggenheimer and Centra Hospice for the love and care shown to Vera.
