Ruby Callahan Miear, age 97 of Camden, AL formerly of Lynchburg, widow of Jack Miear passed away on Monday, April.8, 2019 at her home.
She was born on November 1, 1921 in Campbell County, and was the last of eleven children born to the late Charles H. Callahan and the late Carrie V. Callahan.
Ruby loved being outdoors especially when she could work in her garden.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Hutchinson and husband Jim; 2 grandchildren, Kellie Thornton and husband Lee and James W. Hutchinson, II and wife Janie; 5 great grandchildren, Lexie Cantin and husband Ethan, Madison Corl and husband Matthew, Corey Hutchinson, James W. Hutchinson, III, and Gunney Hutchinson; 1 great-great grandson, Leland Cantin.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Tanya Montgomery for the loving care that she has given to their mother over the last fifteen years.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Rev. David Heerspink officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 pm on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Southern Care Hospice, 179 S Jackson St Ste B, Grove Hill, AL 36451.
