Robert Gordon Austin

Robert Gordon Austin, 43, of Rustburg passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016, at his residence. He was the husband of Yvonne Marie Austin. Born April 25, 1972, in Richmond, he was the son of Charles Atlas Austin and the late Linda Kay Layne Brown Austin. Robert was a former construction worker for Keith Layne Construction. In addition to his wife and father, Robert is survived by his children Zachary Austin of Evington, Cheyenne Austin of Bedford County and Christian Isaiah Austin; five siblings, Paul Brown, Michael Brown and Michelle Brown of Richmond, Rev. Keith Layne and his wife Jodi and Karen Stevens, all of Lynchburg; one grandchild; special aunts and uncle, Rebecca Cash of Evington and Lacy and JoAnn White of Rustburg; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Keith Layne and the Rev. Larry Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the residence of Lacy and JoAnn White.
