Rebecca Lindsay Truxell, 88 of Lynchburg, widow of Raymond Carlyle Truxell, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022.
She was born in Lynchburg on September 20, 1934, daughter of the late Howard L. Lindsay and the late Mabel M. Lindsay.
Rebecca graduated from E.C. Glass High School and retired from United Virginia Bank where she was a branch manager and loved working with her customers. She was an avid golfer and a die-hard UVA fan. After retirement she enjoyed playing golf and was always a spectator at her grandchildren’s activities as well as being the family caregiver for her parents, cousin, and aunt. She enjoyed family beach vacations and a good steak. Her greatest joy recently was spending time with her great granddaughter, Nora Grace.
Left to cherish Rebecca’s memory are her two sons, Kent Truxell (Cathy) and Matt Truxell (Beth); three grandchildren, Hannah Truxell (Deb), Sarah Truxell and Paige Truxell as well as her great granddaughter, Nora Grace Hancock.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 11:00 am at Fort Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Centra Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center, 1701 Thomson Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
