She was preceded in death by her brother Richard Ferguson. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Beverly C. Eggleston, two sons, Tim (Becky) and Keith “Kacey” (Stephanie) Eggleston, and two daughters, Brenda Smith and Wendy (Ed) Sale. She was the loving Grandmother of nine grandchildren; Jason, Christine, Jessica, Kaitlin, Jeremy, Justin, Travis, Jennifer and Brian. She was also a loving icon to her 13 great grandchildren. Nancy is also survived by her loving sister-in-law Bettie Jackson of Madison Heights. Bettie was a huge part of Nancy’s caregiving team during her illness.
During the span of her life, Nancy was a telephone operator, a small business owner and manager, and she dedicated hundreds of hours of volunteer work with the Junior Women’s Club, Boy and Girl Scouts, the local foodbank and her church. She was a charter member and over 25 years served in several capacities with Mended Hearts, Chapter 16, based at Lynchburg General Hospital, and in the Hospital Auxiliary.
A celebration of Life will be held at her church, The Well, located at 2450 Thomas Jefferson Rd, Forest, VA, 24551 at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2016.
In lieu of flowers, Nancy asked that well-wishers make a donation to Mended Hearts, Chapter 16, 1901 Tate Springs Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501 or their favorite cancer charities.
