Marie Long Hiner

Born in Pulaski, February 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Gilbert Long and Vera Mae Matherley Long. She was a dedicated homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed reading and collecting bells. She also loved to sing and was a member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Vera Alice Higginbotham and Linda Marie Byrum; one granddaughter, Kelly Dease and three great grandsons, Landon and Carter Vallorani and Isaac Spillers.

Marie is survived by one daughter, Jenny H. Willis and her husband Mike; two sons, James S. Hiner II, and his wife Belinda and Mark P. Hiner and his wife Jan; 10 grandchildren, Jeffery Byrum (Kelly), Micki Mueksch (Josef), Kristen Moore (Ben), Joseph McMichael, (Jeanine), Sabra Hiner, Amy J. Vallorani, (Jared), Angela Prince (Richard), Amber Hiner, Brittany Rosenoff (William) and Nicholas Higginbotham (Jenn); 27 great grandchildren, Mallory Berry (Brandon), Shelby Byrum, Brayden Byrum, Hope Mueksch, Abbey Mueksch, Jordan Moore, Tia Moore, Aiden Moore, Christina Shealy (Chase), Taylor Prince, Collin Prince, Kyle Prince, Haley Vallorani, Hartley Vallorani, Harmony Vallorani, Hannah Vallorani, Elizabeth Dease, Rebekah Dease, Blake Dease, Jacob Dease, Alicia Dease, Aaron Rosenoff, Dominic Higginbotham, Lyra Higginbotham Steven Crawford, David Crawford and John Mason; 7 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2022 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Carl Weiser officiating. Interment will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
