Louise Hubbard Gallaher, 94, of Lynchburg, died, Wednesday, March 09, 2011, at The Carrington. She was the wife of the late James Gulliver Gallaher. She was born September 20, 1916, in Pittsylvania County to the late Robert McKenzie Hubbard and Anna Carr Hubbard.
Loving mother and wife, Mrs. Gallaher retired from Centra-Lynchburg General Hospital, and she was a member of Fort Hill United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Gallaher is preceded in death by three brothers George Hubbard, Henry Hubbard and Edward Hubbard.
Mrs. Gallaher is survived by two daughters, Kay Merryman and her husband Thomas of Lynchburg and Janet McLaurin and her husband John of Newport News; one son, James Gallaher of Staunton; one brother, Robert Hubbard, Jr. of Nathalie; one daughter-in-law, Sue Micklem of Staunton; one granddaughter, Cody Gallaher; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted, 1:00 p.m.., Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Philip Waltz and the Rev. Janet Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
