Laura Lee Makings Oldham Nicholson, 83, of Anderson, Indiana went to be with her Lord on September 10, 2014. Twice married, she was preceded in death by her first husband Doug Oldham and is survived by her husband Robert Nicholson of Anderson, Indiana.
Born in Trenton, Nebraska, August 15, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Weaver Charles Makings and Edith Grace Perkins Makings. She was a member of Park Place Church of God in Anderson and prior to that was a long time member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, John Johnson.
She is survived by three daughters, Paula Oldham Johnson of Lynchburg, Karen Oldham Offenbacker and her husband Garry of Williamstown, NJ and Rebekah Oldham Cox and her husband Lee of Lynchburg. She has five grandchildren and six great grandchildren from her family in Lynchburg and New Jersey.
Her family in Indiana includes Paul and Rita Nicholson and Gary and Thonja Nicholson, all of Anderson. She, along with Dr. Nicholson have six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren in Indiana.
A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Pate Chapel, Thomas Road Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. Interment will follow at the Founders Memorial at Liberty University.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., September 20, 2014 at Pate Chapel, Thomas Road Baptist Church immediately before the service.
