Judy Anita Hale Goff McCormick, 83, of Lynchburg, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.
Born in Mavisdale near Grundy, VA on June 16, 1941, she was the daughter of the late James Howard Hale and Juanita Burks Hale. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Clarence Prater and two husbands, Charlie Heal Goff and Duvall Franklin McCormick.
Judy graduated from Iaeger Senior High School in 1959. She was a member of Eastbrook Baptist Church for 59 years and was a retired employee of General Electric and Ericsson after 35 years of service. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Judy is survived by her only daughter, Eva Marie Burnett (Forest), one granddaughter, Paige E. Burnett, four step-daughters; Cindy Anthony (Lewis), Sheila McCormick (David),Theodora Woody, and Marilyn Litchford (Charles).
The family would like to thank the Centra Hospice team for their extraordinary care for Judy.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 6-8 pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 11:00 am Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Curtis Walkup and Pastor Jeff Worley officiating. Burial will follow at Virginia Memorial Park.
