Erma Jean Jones Spicer January 19, 1941-May 24, 2011 Erma Jean was born January 19, 1941 in Smithfield, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Irvin Webster Jones and Violet Langdon Jones. She graduated from Smithfield High School and lived in Smithfield, NC until relocation to Lynchburg, VA in 1978. She retired as a nurse’s aide and was a member of Living Word Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA. Her last years were spent in Lynchburg Health and Rehabilitation Center. A special thanks to those who gave loving care and compassion to her in her final days. Survived by her three loving daughters: Sherry Spicer Adams and son-in-law, Hank Adams, and grandson, Kyle Adams of Raleigh, NC.; Teresa Jones Spicer of Greensboro, NC, and granddaughter and grandson, Chasity and Chris Randolph of Raleigh, NC.; Beebe Jeanee Spicer of Lynchburg, VA and her companion, James Brown of Lynchburg, VA; Step-granddaughter, Brooke Adams of Rockingham, NC. And Loral Adams Hauff of Sanford, NC; Also survived by her brothers, Hugh Jones and sister–in-law, Sadie Jones of Pine Level, NC and Mac Jones and sister-in-law, Sandy Jones of Smithfield, NC; sister, Sue Jones Davis and brother-in-law, Dennis Davis of Four Oaks, NC, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Irvin Jones and sister-in-law, Doris Ferrell Jones of Smithfield, NC. And sister, Doris Jones Walker and brother-in-law, Allen Walker. “A Going Home” celebration will be held Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 1:00 at Living Word Baptist Church in Forest, VA conducted by the Rev. Matthew Short.
