Born November 3, 1928 in East Placka, FL, she was the daughter of the late Henry Leonard and Grace Marie Rupert Hawkins and was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Tyson, Bonnie Jordan, and Thelma Hawkins; a brother, Henry “Buddy” Hawkins; a son-in-law, Robert Chambers and a brother-in-law, Lloyd Campbell. She was a retired seamstress with Wilko Manufacturing Company with forty eight years of service and was a member of Jubilee Baptist Church.
Mrs. Suddith is survived by two sons, George E. Suddith and wife Tina of Hurt and Roger W. Suddith and girlfriend, Cheryl of Concord; three daughters, Violet S. Chambers of Rustburg, Margo S. Childress and husband Wayne of Concord, and Carolyn S. Chambers and husband Frank of Rustburg; two brothers, Richard L. Hawkins and wife Eunice of Evington, Otis L. Hawkins and wife Shirley of Lynchburg; one sister, Alice H. Campbell of Gladys; fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Jubilee Baptist Church in Concord with the Rev. Roger Childress officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Monday, March 25, 2013 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and other times at the residence.
