Earl Eugene Williams, Sr.

Earl Eugene Williams, Sr., 73, of Lynchburg, passed away, Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was the husband of Marie Peters Williams, Born March 27, 1941, in Campbell County, he was the son of the late Otis Hawkins Williams, Sr. and the late Bonnie Mae Hawkins Jordan. Earl was a former insurance agent for Life of Georgia/ING and a member of Eastbrook Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by four siblings, Otis H. Williams, Jr., Raymond Sydney Williams, Pearl Williams Smith and Leroy Leonard Williams; and one grandchild. In addition to his wife, Earl is survived by five children, Pamela Sue Campbell of Lynchburg, Sherry Mae Walker of Concord, Faith Williams Peak and her husband Gary of Gladys, Dorethea Lynn Sodders and her husband Brian of Bedford and Earl Eugene Williams, Jr. of Campbell County; sixteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted, 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 19, 2014, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
