Debra Lynn Gil

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Debra Lynn Gil, born April 28, 1958 in Lafayette, IN, and passed away on September 14, 2023 in Lynchburg, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, John P. Pearl, Jr. and Helen L. Pearl. Debra was a loving mother, and a true friend to all who knew her. She was an amazing woman who was always quick to share a smile and a kind word. She was passionate about life and loved serving others. Debra was a devoted mother to her three children, John J. Butler, James Joseph Butler, and Christina Lynn Butler (Danny). She was a devoted school bus driver for 20+ years until she retired. She enjoyed an active retirement with travel and volunteering in the church's nursery. In addition to her children, she is survived by her sister, Joanne Wells and her brother, James Pearl. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Waymaker.Church, 1650 Hooper Road, Forest VA, 24551.
