She was born in Lynchburg on December 28, 1946, daughter of the late Scott and Mary Tomlin.
Darnelle was retired from TJ Maxx. She was a huge Elvis fan, loved shopping for deals and was the original bargain hunter.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard W. Bryant; a son, Wayne Bryant; three brothers, Howard Tomlin, Anderson “Kap” Tomlin, and Elwood Tomlin; four sisters, Lena Banton, Lucy Bryant, Thelma Watts, and Martha Exum.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Curtis W. Bryant (Jennifer); a brother, Bernard Tomlin (Patsy); five grandchildren, Samantha Bryant (Bobby), Sarah Bryant, Kayla Barbour (Jeff), Chase Bryant, and Mackenzie Bryant. She is also survived by one great-granddaughter. In addition, she leaves behind her beloved furbabies, Tobie and China Lee.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel where a Celebration of Life will be held beginning at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
