Born May 19, 1927, in Campbell County, he was the son of the late Thomas Harrison Roberts and the late Elsie Jane Moses Roberts.
Mr. Roberts was a self-employed mechanic and owner of Roberts Auto Parts and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Roberts is preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Siegel; one half-brother, Frank Goff; and one grandson, Clyde Allen Roberts.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Roberts is survived by five children, Frances Roberts and special friend Jack Spruce of Evington, Ronnie Roberts of Rustburg, Clyde Roberts, Jr. and his wife Teresa of Evington, Betty Howell and her husband Daniel of Princeton, WV and Margie Darby and her husband James Ken of Evington; one sister, Frances Gaskill of Portsmouth; one brother, Howard Roberts and his wife Billie of Evington; nine grandchildren, Austin Roberts, Jason Roberts, Gilford Roberts, Jr., Clinton Roberts, Renee’ Davis, Heather Howell, Brian Howell, Justin Crawford and Amber Crawford; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Jack Spruce.
A funeral service will be conducted, 1:00p.m., Friday, October 7, 2011, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Jim Critchley officiating. Interment will follow at the Roberts Family Cemetery in Evington.
The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2011, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence of Clyde Roberts, Jr.
