 Obituario de Cash Gaudio
Micah "Cash" Gaudio, 19, tragically passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024, in his driveway in Lynchburg, Virginia, in a senseless act of violence. Though the suspect has been arrested, Cash’s family is left grappling with the heartbreaking loss of their beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. Born on May 21, 2005, at Lewis-Gale Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia, Cash was the cherished son of Micah Gaudio and Shannon Meyers. He recently graduated from Liberty Christian Academy, where he was a spirited leader, attending and supporting all football and basketball games, always in the front row and dressed for every theme. Cash had also attended Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy, where he played Varsity basketball as a sophomore, and Jefferson Forest High School, where he played football and basketball. In spite of changing schools several times, Cash maintained a 3.5 GPA and was inducted into the National Honor Society where he served as an officer. Cash was active in his community through his commitment to The Hope Company Church, as well as his continued involvement with Thomas Road Baptist Church. As a 19-year-old freshman attending Central Virginia Community College (CVCC), he proudly owned and operated his own business, Cash's Clean Detailing. He took great pride in his work, receiving only 5-star reviews. With his tireless energy and cheerful good nature, he also worked as a lifeguard at the Jamerson YMCA. He worked out daily at Elite Fitness and played travel basketball with Hill City Crash. Cash’s ultimate goal was to transfer to the University of Virginia to pursue a degree in business. He had an immense love for cars, frequently attending Cars and Coffee events. He was known for his expertise in identifying car models and engines, and loved nothing more than offering his advice to anyone looking for a new vehicle. Cash enjoyed playing basketball, snowboarding, mountain biking, and gaming with his best friend, Terry White, as well as countless other friends. One of his greatest joys was playing Minecraft with his 6-year-old brother, Reese, who lovingly called Cash his big “Bubba.” Before he was the most amazing older brother, Cash was a much-loved little brother to his treasured sister, McKenna-Kate. They share an unbreakable bond, which will never fade. Cash was a beacon of light to those around him, always full of humor and kindness, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. His memory will forever be cherished by all who had the joy of knowing him. Cash is survived by his mother Shannon Meyers and her husband Jeff of Lynchburg, VA; father Micah Gaudio of St Petersburg, FL; sister, McKenna-Kate Gaudio of Richmond, VA; brother, Reese; grandparents Wayne and Linda Wolfe of Smith Mountain Lake, VA, and Ron and Beth Gaudio of Port Charlotte, FL, as well as countless beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Service Information The family will receive guests for a visitation service on Sunday, October 6th, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. EST at the Thomas Road Baptist Church Main Sanctuary, located at 1 Mountain View Rd, Lynchburg, VA. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:30 p.m., with a reception at 4:30 p.m. at Bruner Hall, next to the Sanctuary. Food will be donated by Gerry Abrams Subway and Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken & Wings. The service will be officiated by Mike Morris, PJ Preston, Jeff Capps, Matt Hildebrand, Lincoln Bryan, Brad Bochette, Micah Gaudio, and Terry White. Vocal tributes will be performed by Kevin Haglund, Emma Egel, and McKenna-Kate Gaudio. The Gaudio and Meyers families extend their heartfelt thanks for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support from the community during this devastating time of grief. Special Messages Cash’s favorite Bible verse was Jeremiah 29:13: "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." His greatest wish was for everyone to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Memorial and Donation Information In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to the Cash Gaudio Memorial Scholarship Fund, established in honor of Cash’s legacy. This fund will provide need-based scholarships to student-athletes who embody the same character, values, and passion that Cash did. The fund will support students at Liberty Christian Academy and Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy, the latter of which Cash's parents helped establish in 2005. Donations can be made at CashGaudio.com. Cash’s life was a testament to love, perseverance, and faith. His memory will live on through the lives he touched and the impact he made on his family, friends, and community. Please visit the family’s memorial page to leave messages of condolence and share your memories of Cash.
