Bobbie “Bob” Gene Waller, 83 of Lynchburg, husband of Faye R. Waller, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at his home.
He was born in Lynchburg on May 30, 1936, son of the late Frank M. and Helen G. Waller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Jason Ryan “Agent” Waller and Joshua Wayne Waller.
Bob was a retired US Army Sgt. having served in Korea and Vietnam. Following his Army service, he served in the National Guard as well as working for Boxley Materials Company and Kmart. He and Faye served as camp host at Onslow Beach on the Camp Lejeune military base. He was a member as well as a greeter of Timberlake United Methodist Church and the Moose Lodge. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and hunting.
In addition to his wife Faye, he is survived by 2 children, Danny Waller and wife Margo and Lee Waller and wife Rhonda; 2 step children, Robin Borden and husband Don and Henry “Hank” L. Copeland, Jr. and wife Cindy; 3 brothers, Frankie Waller and wife Linda, Jimmy Waller and wife Louise and Alvin Mills; 1 grandson, Cody Beasley; 4 step grandchildren, Katherine Madden and husband Justin, Daniel Copeland, Raymond Copeland, and Elizabeth Copeland.
A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at Timberlake United Methodist Church with Pastor Brad McMullen officiating, followed by a reception in the Family Life Center.
