Memorial service will be held at the Lumberton White Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 1:00 pm, followed immediately by interment at the Union Grove Cemetery, Purvis, MS.
Robert was a native of Purvis, MS. He started his career at age 13 at his father's Purvis sawmill. He continued working for some 61 years in construction, pipelines and the trucking industry throughout the USA before retiring to his rural Lumberton farm to raise a small herd of cows.
He was a member of Lumberton Lodge #417 and Dayle Chapter #72 OES. During his retirement, Robert enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren while spending time with his beloved wife, Florence. Robert and Florence celebrated 60 years of marriage in June 2010.
In his golden years, Robert enjoyed his Saturday evening outings with "MaMa", an affectionate name he gave to Florence. His favorite pastimes were visiting the Lumberton VFW Post #1243, Sunday morning gospel music, afternoon football games and the Western Channel - 24/7!
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend W. J. and Sarah I'Della Shores Bullock, three brothers, W. J. Bullock, Jr., A. J. Bullock and Benny Earl Bullock, three sisters, Velma Harper, Johnnie V. Nunn and Betty Lee Bullock.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Elizabeth Reid Bullock of Lumberton; one son, Robert E. Bullock, Jr. of Biloxi, MS; three daughters, Elizabeth Ann (Liz) LeCount of Lumberton, Carolyn Sue Bullock of Picayune, MS and Brenda Lee Willey of Cartersville, GA; two brothers, George Ermon Bullock of Lucedale, MS, Frank Bullock of Purvis, MS; three sisters, Mary Ethel Bounds of Purvis, MS, Margarette Ann May of Cartersville, TN and Bonnie Lucille Milner of Poplarville, MS; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and loving friends.
Visitation will be at the White Funeral Home in Lumberton, MS on Friday March 18, 2011 from 6:00 to 10:00 pm.
