Funeral service for Thedford Louin Easley, 80, of Alto, Texas, will be held 2 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Gipson Funeral Home with David Middleton officiating. Interment will follow at the Zavalla Cemetery.
Mr. Easley was born January 4, 1944 in Acol, Polk County, Texas, son of the late Agnise (Mosley) and William Louin Easley. He passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024 in a Tyler hospital.
Thedford was a loving son, husband, father, and Gramps to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a rancher, cattleman, and a member of Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. In 1969, he started a one-man shop in Lufkin, Texas. Today, that shop is a strong family owned and operated East Texas Crane Service.
Survivors include wife, Leatha (Cordova) Easley of Alto; daughters, Delisa Ellington and Johnny of Nacogdoches, Shawnna Mettlen and Joe of Pollok; sons, Kevin Easley and Malena Poe of Jasper, Jeffrey Cordova and Mandy of Central; daughter-in-law, Barbie Cordova; grandchildren; Westley and Vanessa Ellington, Anna and Jeff Love, Nicki and Derek Lazarine, Andrew Rodgers, Sasha and Niko Grivakis, Daniel and Sarah Mettlen, Wayne and Susan Rouse, Krista and Colton Burns, Devin Harper, Chelsea Forrest, Aliah Cordova and Mike Loggins, Jaxton Cordova, Jaiden Cordova, Chris Easley, Patrick Easley, Jacob Easley, Bryce Cordova, Langston Cordova; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred and Bobby Wood; and brother Gene and Molly Easley.
He is preceded in death by parents; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Bill Simms; brother-in-law, LeeRoy Neal; son, Gregg Cordova; and son-in-law, Danny Rodgers.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Wood, Daniel Mettlen, Wayne Rouse, Bryce Cordova, Jax Cordova, and Kim Scott
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Easley’s Crane Service.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
