In Loving Memory of Shirley Ann McGiboney Bryant, 86 years old, who tragically passed away on November 12th in Houston, Texas. Born on April 4, 1938, in Lufkin, Texas, she touched the lives of many with sweetness, kindness, generosity, unwavering support and love.
Shirley was an amazing artist and had a natural ability and profound love of art from a very young age. She loved to paint portraits, still life, flowers, varieties of landscapes, and was happy to create anything anyone would request.
Shirley was married to Jerry Bryant for 54 years when he passed. Together, they established their business, Bryant Insurance Agency in 1964, which thrived in the Houston area for many decades due to their hard work and dedication to serving their clients. She continued to own and manage the business well into her 80’s. Her biggest source of pride were her two daughters, whom they raised in Houston in the home where she still resided. Her commitment to her family was inspirational to all who knew her.
She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet Bryant and Gina Armas; her grandchildren, Vincent Armas, and his fiancé, Daniele, Dillon Armas, and his wife Layla Armas; and her great granddaughter, Aliya Armas.
She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Sadie McGiboney; her husband, Jerry Bryant; her grandson, Ricky Reyna; her son-in-law, Ronnie Lunsford; and her brother, Charles McGiboney.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, 1:00 PM, December 7, 2024, at
Fielder Memorial Cemetery, Homer, TX, close to Lufkin.
