Sandra Jean Mayfield-Adkins, 69, of Lufkin, was born June 2, 1942 in Paducah, Texas, the daughter of the late Ruby Maxine (Colwell) York and Wesley Peacock. She passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011 in a local hospital.
Sandra was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She worked in materials control and did secretarial work at Lufkin Industries and Sears Service Center. She was always the life of the party and enjoyed her grandbabies unconditionally. Sandra also enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Terry Jones of Lufkin; grandchildren, Cara Blacksher, T. J. Jones, and Taylor Jones; great-grandchildren, Christina, Aiden and Peyton Blacksher; 9 step-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Hughes of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Mike Campbell of Conroe; stepson and his wife, Curtis and Lori Adkins of Broaddus; stepsons, Danny and David Adkins, both of Broaddus; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ocelee Adkins; husband, Charles Mayfield; and son, Wesley Mayfield.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Blacksher, Mike Campbell, Richard Shea Fenley-Farley, Billy-Jack Duncan, Kevin Watson and Coby Hughes.
Graveside services for Sandra will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2011 in the Fielder Memorial Park, with Bro. Bill Havard officiating.
