Rebecca (Parnell) Thompson

Funeral services for Rebecca Hetti Thompson, 47, of Lufkin Texas, will be held Thursday, July 28, 2022 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 a.m officiated by Chaplin Napoleon Shaw. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Rebecca was born June 12, 1975 in Orlando, Florida, daughter of Sarah (Durham) and Larry Parnell. She passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022 in the Hospice in the Pines.

Rebecca was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending her time traveling and going to the beach. She loved singing and dancing. Rebecca served as a dispatcher for the Angelina County Sheriff for 12+ years.

Survivors include daughter, Savannah Butler of Wells; son, Dallas Guerrero of Lufkin, Andrew Cavazos of Lufkin; grandson, Iain Butler, Atticus Harmon; mother, Sarah Moore of Red Town; father, Larry Parnell and stepmother, Wendy of Olympia, Washington; brothers, Eric Parnell of Palestine, James Parnell and Jessica of Red Town, Cody Durham of Wells; sister, Marcie Hull of Wells; niece, Taylor Klenk; nephews, Kaleb Parnell, and Peyton Hull; and grandmother, Margie Parnell.

She was preceded in death by grandmother, Inez Durham; grandfathers, Jacob Durham, and J.B. Parnell.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
