A Celebration of Life Service for John David “Peanut” Reeves, 65, of Lufkin, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2022 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Steve Killam officiating.
Mr. Reeves was born July 18, 1957 in Lufkin, Texas, the son of the late Billie Irene (Dunn) and Jesse Darwin Reeves. He passed away Monday, November 14, 2022 in a local hospital.
Mr. Reeves was a devoted father and brother. He began practicing law in 1983, which was his first love. He enjoyed going to the beach. Mr. Reeves was a devout Christian and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lufkin.
Survivors include his daughter, Hanna Hix, her husband Danny and his grandson Ethan of Little Elm; son, John Schyler Buck of Lufkin; sister, Carolyn Gage and husband Tom of Lufkin; sister, Debra Rhoden of Omaha, Nebraska; daughters, Ara Homer and Tessa Archer, both of New York; and several nieces and other family members.
Mr. Reeves was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Darwin Reeves.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday afternoon at the funeral home.
