Memorial service for James Lee Howell, 67, of Lufkin, will be held at a later date.

Mr. Howell was born January 24, 1956 in Diboll, Texas, son to the late Edna Weisinger and Jimmy Howell. He passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023 in a local hospital.

James was a loving father and grandfather. In his free time, he loved to fix things and work in the yard. He loved his cars and enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include son, James David Howell of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Tiffany Chipman and David of Lufkin, AND Laura South and Kason of Diboll; grandchildren, Courtney Vaughn, Elizabeth Chipman, Clark Chipman, Kyra South, and Kasper South; brothers, Ronnie and Billy Howell, both of Lufkin; and sister, Janice Tobias of Lufkin.

He is preceded in death by parents; wife, Nelda Howell; brothers, Robert and Michael Howell; and sister, Sharla Howell.
