She was born in Delaware near the Pennsylvania hamlet of Kennett Square that would be her happy home through high school. She spent proud years during WWII running a test cell for B-17 engines as her part to help the war effort and to keep her brother Louis and cousin Tino safe as they flew in them.
While in chicago she was reacquainted with a Kennett High boy--Mark Miller and they were married. She was the wife and mother to a loving family and she and Mark were known everywhere by their lively dancing and kindness. When they moved to lufkin, Texas they continued their journey through life with a fine set of friends where Helen was engaged in the community via volunteer activities and social events. Travel outside the area was one of her favorite activities including trips back to her parents' home town in the mountains of Northern italy, as well as all over the world.
She is survived by her younger sister, Ida Paton of Indianapolis; dear cousins in Kennett and Italy; her children; Roland of denver, Alice of Hilo, Hawaii and Mark of Santa Fe and their families which include her 6 grandkids and 2 great grandsons.
Services for Mrs. Miller will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
