Funeral service for Ennis Ray Leake, 82, of Lufkin, Texas, will be held at 3PM on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at the Elwyn Marcus Gipson Chapel of Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Leake was born October 26, 1941 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, son of the late Evelyn Lena Harvison and Ennis Roseman Leake. He passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the Hospice in the Pines Inpatient Unit.
Ennis was a master carpenter. He could build anything he wanted: toys, cribs, or homes; with wood or any material he wanted. He enjoyed arts and crafts, cooking, entertaining, playing dominoes, and playing on his tablet. Ennis loved coaching Little League Baseball. He was a member of Methodist Church, Orange, Texas.
Survivors include wife, Barbara Leake of Lufkin; daughter, Patti Draper of Lufkin; son, Scott Draper and wife Terri of Carthage, TX; daughter, Jody Brown and husband Scott of Houston; daughter, Rae Ane Buford and husband Bill of Willis; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Gay Pruitt of Bridge City, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents; brother, Clem Leake; and daughter, Cindy Ann Draper.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Elwyn Marcus Gipson chapel of Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
