Donald Sherman Noel

Mr. Noel served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and later in the United States Coast Guard. He was employed as a logistics coordinator for the U.S. Maritime Administration, an English teacher, and a karate instructor. He was a Founding Father of the Mavericks who enjoyed scuba diving, skiing, coin collecting, and Sturgis.

Mr. Noel is survived by his beloved dog, Lady: daughter, Dianna Snyder, and husband Keith of Zavalla; daughter Joanna Noel of Lufkin; grandchildren Amanda Snyder, Leah and Joey Smith, Seth McKenzie, Micah Snyder, and Jordan Sprinkle; great-grandchildren Paislee, Catherine (Cat), Harper, Maisie, Mason, Gunner, Natalie, Trinity, Braden, Asher, and Chevelle; brother Daniel Noel and sister Patricia Palet.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Noel was preceded in death by his sister, Vanita Mitchell and his brother, Dennis Noel.

Honorary pallbearers will be Micah Snyder, Jordan Sprinkle, Christian Smith, Joey Smith, Robert Noel, and Danny Noel Jr.

A graveside service for Mr. Noel will be in Homer Cemetery on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. with Bro. Lamar Denby officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Gipson Funeral Home.
