Dallas Sanders Jr.

Services for Dallas Sanders, Jr., 94, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2018 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Forrest officiating. Interment will follow in Huntington Cemetery.

He was born October 15, 1923 in Huntington, TX, the son of the late Chloe (Weaver) and Dallas George Sanders, and passed away on August 30, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Sanders was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Lufkin. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Susan Sanders of Lufkin; Michael and Melanie Sanders of Kennard; grandchildren, Matt and Courtney Sanders of Lufkin, Jeff and Ashley Sanders, Jennifer and Allen Livingston, all of College Station, Travis and Nicole Sanders of Texas City, Nathan and Angel Sanders of Ft. Drum, NY, Brandon Briggs of Baycliff and Corey Briggs of Texas City; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Lila Lee Sanders in February, 2018; and granddaughter, Monica Sanders.

Pallbearers are Martin Jones, Donnie Puckett, Craig Teer, Joey Teer, Taylor Thigpen and Ross Sitterding.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, TX 75904.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
