Wilburn Louis Maeker

Wilburn graduated from Wilson High School in 1951 and enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving from 1954 to 1956. He married Fredda Loy Blair on April 22, 1956 and farmed in Lynn County, moving to Lubbock in 1974. He also worked as a warehouseman for Bell Dairy for 20 years and was a member of The Church of God – PKG.

Wilburn was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers: Howard “Buddy” Maeker, Orville Maeker, Charles Maeker, and Ray Maeker.

Wilburn is survived by his wife, Fredda; sons, Carl Mark Maeker of Lubbock, TX, Paul William Maeker of Murphy, TX; daughter, Carol Diann Mellerup of New Franklin, MO; brothers, Larry Maeker of Sulfur Springs, TX, Walter Ray Steen of Wilson, TX; also blessed with five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A Chapel Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in the Abbey Chapel at Resthaven Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
