Sue was born on June 18, 1930 to Theodore Gaston Shaw and Alice Faye Farmer Shaw in Lubbock, Texas. She spent most of her life in Lubbock before moving to Dallas. There, she met the love of her life, Frank Taylor Ford Jr at a church function. The two began a life together and married on March 2, 1956.
Sue was a long-term member of South Plains Church of Christ. She built many friendships and served her Lord steadfast and faithfully.
Sue spent most of her professional career as a bookkeeper in the automobile industry. She enjoyed long term employment with Snodgrass Maynard and eventually retired after many years at Pollard Friendly Ford. After retirement, she enjoyed many years of participation in a women's stock club that she had helped to establish. She delighted in teaching her knowledge of the market.
Sue also enjoyed many hobbies and past times. She was very competitive and reveled in a challenge of any kind. When she wasn't cheering on her favorite Texas Tech Lady Raiders, all decked in her Texas Tech gear, she could be found engrossed in a great game of bridge or maybe a little chicken foot. A heated game of SkipBo with her grandchildren was her delight. Sue also loved to cook. Sunday afternoon meals around her table was a great treat for family.
Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Taylor Ford Jr and her granddaughter, Kylie Nicole Ford.
Those left to cherish her memory here on Earth are her daughter, Janis Ann Mason and husband Kenneth Smith; Frank Taylor Ford Ill and wife Michelle; grandchildren, Jason Taylor Ford, Kaci Michelle Dyson/Brandon, John Taylor Mason/Tiffany, Elizabeth Ann Guttierez/Steven, Rebecca Sue Smith/Andy Robbins; Great grand children, Jaxon Mason, Camden Mason, Londyn Kate Mason, Brynlie Dyson, Kannon Dyson, Krew Dyson, Miles Guttierez, Raelynn Robbins, Renlie Robbins and Laramie Mason
Sue will always be remembered for her spirited personality and feisty sense of humor, but most of all her family will treasure her unwavering faithfulness to God ,her family, and friends.
