Steve was born to Chuck and Hillene Wallace on January 19, 1953 in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Cleburne High and received his B.A. and J.D. degrees from Texas Tech and Texas Tech School of Law. Steve was an Assistant County Attorney in Parker County, Assistant District Attorney in Tarrant County and Judge of Tarrant County Court at Law No. 2, after which he retired from the bench to go into private practice.
Steve was a man of faith who loved God. His other loves were music, especially the Beatles and Elvis, playing his guitar and composing songs; Red Raider football; Rangers baseball; Dallas Cowboys football (depending on the season); Colonial golf tournaments; travel; and spending time with friends, family and his pets. But above all else Steve loved his children, Christie, Zack and Kyle. They were the loves of his life and his greatest pride.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather Manly Stone; grandparents Maudie “Mima” and John Wortman; Charlie “Pa” and Clemmie Wallace; and Mac and Cleo McMillin.
A gathering to pay tribute to Steve’s life will be held from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Tarrant County Bar Assoc. Center 1315 Calhoun St, FT. Worth, TX 76102. He is survived by his daughter Christie Wallace and her fiancé Tommy Brown of Dallas and his sons, Zack Wallace and Kyle Wallace of Los Angeles and other family members.
If desired, memorials may be made in Steve’s honor to the Humane Society of North Texas or the Texas Tech Alumni Association.
