He was born on Dec. 18, 1936, in Vernon to Jonathan Lloyd and Laura Bonner Barnett. He graduated from Lubbock Monterey High School in 1954.
Ron worked as parts manager at Lubbock White Trucks, South Plains International Trucks and Roberts Truck Center. He enjoyed singing and playing guitar.
He married Annette (Ann) Meyers on Nov. 7, 1958, at First Baptist Church of Lubbock. She preceded him in death on May 11, 2023. He was a member of Monterey Baptist Church in Lubbock.
Survivors include children Karen Barnett, Jonathan Barnett and wife Julie; and Michael Barnett and wife Kristy; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2024, at Resthaven in Lubbock.
