Retha Fay House

2023. Retha attended Hobbs High School and graduated in 1972. She moved to Lubbock, Texas soon

after graduating. Retha worked in the Texas education system until her retirement in 2014 from

Lubbock Independent School District Central Administration Office. Her passion and gift was caring for

others. She loved spending her time with her grandson, Carson, and other friends and family.

She was an avid cook and gardener. She also loved woodworking and sewing. She took pride in every

task she had.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Dortha Jones of Hobbs, and her ex-husband John W

House IlI of Lubbock. She is survived by her son Dustin House of Lubbock, his wife Kristi, and their son

Carson, her sister Sandra Riddle of Hobbs, her brother Dennis Jones of Weatherford, and Sue and Vicki

House of Ruidoso, New Mexico. She is also survived by her long-time partner Don Cranford of Lubbock,

and his family.

A visitation for Retha will be held Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 5740 West 19th St, Lubbock, TX. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 4, 2023 at 10:00 AM, Resthaven Funeral Home Abbey Chapel 5740 West 19th St, Lubbock, TX 79407. A graveside service will occur Monday, December 4, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Hobbs, NM.
