Raymond Roy Rowe, 89, passed away Sunday February 7, 2016 in Littlefield. He was born August 9, 1926 in Haskell, Texas. Raymond was married to Edith Rowe for 35 years and in 1983 he married Joyce and they were married for 34 years until his death.
He served in the US Navy during WWII. He rodeoed in his early years, drove an oil transport truck then started R & R Plumbing in 1951 which he ran until 1985. He then moved to Motley County where he continued to be a cowboy, wrangling cows and horses. He worked on the ranch until December of 2015. He received a plaque as the oldest man in Motley County in 2015.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Littlefield; children, Virgil Rowe and better half Jan Colquitt of Lubbock, David Rowe and wife Donna of Bastrop, Lesa Zint and husband Steve of Wolfforth, Kim Billingsley and husband Sam of Littlefield and Rebecca Ussery of Harrah, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Michael Rowe, Lacy Rowe, Amanda VanBrug, Gilbert Jones, Jeremy Zint, Thad Jones and Stephen Ussery; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jesse Headley and Max Headley of Lubbock and sister Marie McDaniel of Mabank, TX.
