Rachel Boneva Martin, 88, of Lubbock, TX, passed away February 21, 2015. She was born in Lubbock County, TX to Ben and Olga Helen (Foerster) Gebert on July 23, 1926. Rachel graduated from Slaton High School. She married Jimmy O. Martin on February 7, 1947. Rachel worked for Cloverlake Icecream, Evan’s Drug, and Leftwich Foods. She had a passion for family, friends, fishing and was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church. Rachel is survived by her daughter, Boneva Hill and son-in-law, Randy Hill; grandchildren, Jimmy, Ashley, and Lacey Hill; great grandchildren, Zoey, Brayden, and Skyler. She is preceded in death by Marvin Gebert, Weldon Gebert, and Riley Gebert. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2015 at Resthaven Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2221 Ave. W, Lubbock, TX 79411 with Reverand Brian Dupre officiating. Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery.
