Mary Stewart

Mary Christine Stewart entered into eternal rest on April 13, 2022 in Lubbock, TX at the age of 86. Born in Annona, Texas to the late Harold and Effie Jewel Ray; she now also reunites with her brother Harold Mack Ray and sister Waunia Ruth McAlister.

She graduated from Lubbock High school and later married the love of her life, James A. Stewart. They made their loving home in Lubbock and was preceded in death by her husband. Mary worked in the Lubbock County clerk’s office for numerous years; but in her free time she enjoyed cooking and being with her family. A true matriarch of her family, she leaves behind strength, and many life lessons for her family to cherish. What always made her day was when her grand children and great-grandchildren would visit. She greatly cherished time with them.

Mary is survived by her children: Jim Stewart, Gail Wilcoxson, Frances Taylor and husband Eric of Lubbock, grandchildren: Christine Covington and husband Samuel, Traci Campos and spouse C.J., from Lubbock, Stefan Taylor of Dallas: great-grandchildren: Alexia Campos, Ryden Campos, Elayna Campos, Caitlin Covington, Parker Covington of Lubbock and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving guests at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 6pm-8pm. Services will continue on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 with a 2pm Graveside service in Resthaven Memorial Park.
