Oh Lydia you're truly missed! I lost contact with you once I stopped working  at Jackson, but you remained in my heart. I remember when I first met you and Mrs Puente how welcomed the both of you made me feel, both of you were two peas in a pod and I valued that very much. I would think to myself I hope I find a friend that would become as close as you two were and guess what Lydia I did!! I know in my heart that you're in heaven, you were such a wonderful, caring, loving person to anyone that crossed your path. When I had my baby and brought her to work, I remember you looking at her and saying "oh my she's tiny!"  then you turned and looked at me and said "she's going to look just like you" guess what She does!! I miss you and you will forever be in my heart. Rest in Peace my friend!

Her smile would light up a room, even in a moment where I was feeling down she uplifted me and I remember her saying,  Everything comes to pass, keep your head up and smile" She was a wonderful and caring person, she will be greatly missed. Rest in peace my friend♥️

Back in the mid-80's I taught with Lydia at A.C. Jackson Elementary in Lubbock.  Lydia was so much fun to work with.  She told us stories I will always remember.  There were times she made me laugh so hard I cried!  I consider it a blessing to have known her.  

Oh Mrs. Esquivel, you have my heart. You were such an amazing teacher at Jackson Elementary many years ago for me. Even years after, you still recognized one of your students all grown up. May you rest peacefully, please say hello to my momma for me. The best two jefas gone too soon.

Mrs. Esquivel, what can I say a wonderful woman that loved her students, a beautiful soul that will be greatly missed. Even though it was in my elementary years when we were close it seems like just yesterday that I heard you getting on to us to get to work and learn. May you rest in peace Mrs. Esquivel, I love you and will miss you.

To Joe and the Esquivel family. I am sad and mourn Lydia’s passing. Samuel her brother will miss her very much. Especially their weekly talks and regular visits. She was a sweet and loving person. She always treated everyone with kindness. I remember her wonderful smile and laugh.  It could be a long time since I would have spoken to her but she treated me like it was yesterday. I pray for us all because I know in my heart that her passing is a great loss to each of us. Rest In Peace, Lydia. 

Bill and I will miss you, sweet friend. We were Blessed because we had your love and friendship. We will always treasure your memory , and keep you in our heart and mind.
God felt that it was time for you to be with Him in Heaven. You and Joe provided a beautiful, loving home for your family. You were an excellent teacher, and your student’s lives had a great foundation under your caring instruction.  You were a loving friend and support to your friends. Lydia, you brought joy to everyone . Now, you are with God, and will be greatly missed.

I am deeply sorry to hear about the passing of my dear friend Lydia. We shared some wonderful times when we worked for the bilingual department of Lubbock ISD  after we were 
"retired". She was a wonderful person and I am sure she will be missed by all who loved her. May you rest in eternal peace my dear friend,  Lydia.
